As Friend-In-Deed enters its 64th year providing food for families, the charity is taking the challenge of food insecurity head on.
While the need is greater than ever, we want to make sure that we provide food assistance to our neighbors during the 2023 Holiday Season.

Did you know?

In Sangamon County the number of individuals projected to experience food insecurity is 30,480, up from 22,480 – a 36% change.

Projected food insecurity for children went from 7,470 to 10,990
– a 47% increase.

Friend-In-Deed is working with the Central Illinois Food Bank to provide Food to over 725 families at Thanksgiving and 750 families at Christmas this year.

The Thanksgiving drive-thru will provide a turkey, as well as a box of dry food items and a box of perishable food items.  The Christmas drive-thru will include a ham, a box of perishable food items and a box of dry food items as well.

In addition to our work with the Central Illinois Food Bank, Friend-In-Deed will be working with School District 186 on a program that will assist over 100 homeless families with school age children.
